Brinjal and Drumstic arachivitta Sambhar



Sambhar is one of the most famous southindian dish which can be mixed with rice and an excellent side dish for dosa idly upma etc.



Now we are going to see how to make an yummy drumstick and brinjal sambhar. This receipe  is for  2 people.

For this we require

Ingredients

1 small cup boiled tool dhal
1 diced tomato
1 big onion
2 drumsticks
1 brinjal
Small lemon sized tamarind
Ready made sambhar powder ( optional . People might think as why we should use a readymade sambhar powder when we are grinding at home but personally I feel that it is a magic which gives a nice colour and aroma when u add it)
 Salt to taste


For grinding

1 spoon chennadhal
2 spoons dhaniya
Red chillies according to your taste
Half spoon fenugreek seeds
Half spoon pepper
Onion
1 spoon toor dhal

PROCEDURE

 Boil the toordhal with little turmeric and keep it aside
Now in a dry pan add chennadhal , dhaniya,redchillies,fenugreek seeds, pepper,toor dhal and onion and make it into a wet paste .Keep it aside.
 Take a pan heat it. Now add some oil to it and add mustard seeds asafoetida curry leaves and 1 green chilly and allow it to splutter.
Now add tomato, salt , readymade sambhar powder,  brinjal and drumstick fry for 2 mins.
Now add the tamarind water salt and the wet grinded paste and allow it to boil for 5 to 6 mins.
Now add the boiled toor dhal mix it well and transfer it to the cooker and let it cook for about two whistles.
Tranfer the sambhar to a serving bowl and garnish it with some coriander leaves.
Now we are ready to taste this yummy sambhar with rice .
