Dhal Methi

Dhal methi is a combination of fenugrerk leaves and dhal.
Dhal in this recepie I have added both toor and moong dhal. It is a nutritious and an aromatic dish.
It is a very excellent dish for the persons with diabetics. 

 Ingredients


  • 1 cup mix of boiled and mashed moong and toor dhal
  • Chopped fenugreek leaves
  • Onions chopped
  • Tomatoes chopped
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 slit green chillies
  • Mustard seeds
  • Urad dhal 1 tsp
  • 1 spoon sambhar powder
  • Asafoetida
  • Salt
  • Oil




Procedure

  • Boil both the dhals in a pressure cooker and mash it nicely.
  • Remove the dhal and keep it aside.
  • In the same cooker add oil put mustard sseeds,  urad dhal, green chillies ,curry leaves , asafoetida and fry nicely.




  • Add onions fry till it becomes brown .
  • Now add tomatoes and cook till it becomes soft and smooth. 
  • Add the dhal , salt , sambhar powder and mix well.
  • Add the fenugreek leaves and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  • Remove it and serve hot with plain rice or with chapatis.
