cabbage kootu

Cabbage kadala paruppu kootu is a most delicious and a comforting side dish.
It is tasty and a simple to make dish as it as a very good flavour. 




Ingredients

Chopped cabbage
Chopped tomatoes
Boiled chenna dhal
Grated coconut
Green chillies 2 
Jeera 1 tsp
Roasted gram 2 tsP
Oil
Curry leaves
Asafoetida
Mustard seeds
Urad dhal
Dry red chillies 2 nos
Frozen peas
Jeera pepper powder 1 tsp

Procedure

Soak the chenna dhal for 20 mins , boil and keep it separately. 
Take a mixer add coconut pieces , jeera , green chillies and roasted gram and make it into a soft paste.
Now take the cooker and chopped cabbage , tomato pieces, frozen peas , white paste salt add cook for 4 whistles. 



Remove it and transfer it to a serving bowl add one spoon of pepper jeera powder.

Take a tadka pan add oil mustardseeds , urad dhal , , asafoetida , , curry leaves and fry till it is roasted completely. 

Serve hot with rice .

Drumstick pepper poricha kootu

Drumstick pepper poricha kootu is one of the most tasty , ethinic Tamil brahmin dish .
It is so easy to make and tastes good with rice and with tiffins.
Let us see how to make this tasty kootu .




Ingredients 

Tomato 1 no chopped
Tamarind water quarter cup
Drumstick chopped
1 spoon jaggery
Boiled moong dhal

For grinding

Toordhal 1 tsp
Dhaniya 2 tsp
Red chilly 5 to 6 nos
Coconut grated 3 spoons
Curry leaves
Pepper half spoon
Jeera 1 spoon
Urad dhal 1 tsp

For seasoning
2 spoons ghee
Mustard
Jeera
Asafoetida

Procedure

Boil moog dhal with turmeric and keep it ready.




Take a pan fry all the above mentioned ingredients required for grinding and make it into a smooth paste.



Now take a cooker add the drumstick pieces , tomato pieces , grinded paste , salt , tamarind water , moong dhal boiled and cook for 1 whistle .


Wait till the steam goes off completely and remove the cover check the consistency and add water if you want a liquid kootu or allow to boik if you want a thicker one.
Take a tadka pan add ghee , mustard , jeera , hing and pour it over the top of the kootu and garnidh with some celantro .

HOTEL STYLE BEERAKAI MASALA KOOTU

INGREDIENTS
1 cup boiled moong dhal
2  cloves garlic 
2 to 3 green chillies
2 spoon coconut grated
2 spoon roasted gram
1 red chilly
1 spoon urad dhal
1 spoon chenna dhal
1 spoon dhaniya powder
oil
turmeric 
asafoetida
curry leaves
1 tomato
1 onion
salt
jeera
coriander leaves
1 spoon rasam powder

PROCEDURE
In a cooker add 1 cup of moong dhal , tomato, garlic ,turmeric and pressure cook for 4 whistles smash it and keep it seperately.
Now add chenna dhal,urad dhal,asafoetida ,red chilly ,asafoetida and fry for 2 mins.
Add the chopped onions and fry for 2 mins.
Now add the boiled beerakai and fry for 2 mins.
In a small mixie jar add coconut ,roasted gram ,green chillies ,jeera , little water and make it into  a paste.
Now add this paste into the pan and allow it to boil for 5 mins with some salt and rasam powder.
Now add the moong dhal paste and allow it to boil till it becomes thick.
Garnish with celantro and serve.

DRUM STICK PORICHA KOOTU


INGREDIENTS
Chopped drumsticks 10
moong dhal
tomato
rasam powder ( 1 spoon)
salt
coconut grated 2 spoons
roasted gram 1 spoon
green chillies 2 nos
jeera
oil
asafoetida
urad dhal
turmeric
red chilly 1
Curry leaves

PROCEDURE
In a pressure cooker boil 1 cup moong dhal with turmeric.
Smash the moong dhal  now add the drumsticks chopped tomatoes.
In a mixie jar put some coconut ,roasted gram ,rasam powder ,green chillies and little water.
Now make a wet paste .Add this in the pressure cooker .
Put some salt,water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
Now open the cooker and check the drumsticks have boiled.
In  seperate tadka pan add some oil and add mustard,uad dhall,asafoetida  ,curry leaves 
and red chilly.
 Mix with the kootu.
NOW your DELICIOUS DRUM STICK KOOTU IS READY.
