Onion chutney is an authentic chutnies in South India which can be tasted with idly or dosa.
INGREDIENTS
2 - 3 onions
1 spoon sambhar powder
1 spoon red chilly powder
turmeric powder a pinch
oil
curry leaves
mustard
salt to taste
PROCEDURE.
Take a pan and allow it to heat
Mean while take a small cup and mix all the dry ingredients sambhar powder, red chilly powder ,turmeric add little water and mix it well till all the dry powder gets mixed up.
LOOK AT THIS PIC FOR A CLEAR IDEA:
When the pan heats up add some oil ,mustard seeds,curry leaves and the wet masala paste and fry for 2 mins till the oil raises up.
Now add the chopped onions , salt, fry pour till it is roasted and cover the pan allow it to steam in a slow flame for about 5 mins.If necessary add little water.
Now remove the onions from the pan and allow it to cool for 15 - 20 mins
Make it into paste using the mixie jar.
Serve hot with idlies and dosa.
