PULIODHARAI ( Tamarind rice)

Puliodharai is a South Indian rice preparation.It is also offered as prasadam in venkatachalapathy temples.  Chennai Triplicane  Perumal Kovil puliodharai is one of my favourite pulianchadam I have ever tasted.
No matter even If we try hard U cannot replicate the taste of the madapalli prasadam .
Yet I have given a simpler version of making Puliodharai for the fast people in this fast world.



INGREDIENTS

oil
urad dhal 3 spoons
urad dhal 3 spoons
mustard seeds
curry leaves
turameric powder
2 green chillies slit
3 red chillies 
salt
1 cup of thick tamarind pulp
ground nuts

PROCEDURE

Take a pan pour some oil. Let it heat .



Once it gets heated add chenna dhal.



Now add the urad dhal ,mustard seeds and fry till it changes its colour.



Now add the ground nuts and fry.





Add the green chillies ,red chillies , curry leaves , turmeric powder and fry nicely. Atlast add the thick tamarind water and salt to your taste.

Allow the mixture to cook till it becomes thick .Wait till it cools down and tranfer it to a clean glass jar and store it in the fridge .
Whenever needed just mix it with the rice and enjoy your puliodharai.
