Pori upma / Puffed rice upma

 Pori upma or puffed rice upma is a  simple bachelor's recepie. It is a popular Andhra recepie and particularly it is very famous in Kurnool district . It is easily digestable and can be made easily in busy mornings .







Ingredients needed



Puffed rice 4 cups  ( do not soak the puffed rice in water just wash it and squeeze the water completely .keep it aside )
Frozen peas 1 cup
Tomatoes chopped
Onions 1 chopped
Carrots chopped
Capsicum chopped
Roasted groundnuts 
Oil
Salt
Turmeric
Green chillies 4 nos 
Curry leaves
Chopped celantro
Mustard
Urad dhal 2 tsp
Chenna dhal 2 tsp
Ginger chopped

Procedure

Take a pan pour some oil add mustard seeds , curry leaves , chenna dhal, urad dhal , , asafoetida, ginger and fry nicely. Once the dhal gets fried add onions and fry till it becomes brown.


Now add tomatoes and turmeric .Allow it to cook till the tomatoes becomes soft.
 Add the chopped carrots , capsicum ,salt , little water and cook in a medium flame with the pan covered for about 7 to 8 minutes. 
 Once the vegetables are cooked completely add the peas and fry for about 2 to 3 mins.

Now add the washed and squeezed puffed rice or pori and celantro fry well for about 2 mins .
Squeeze some lime juice .
